This is my ‘Christmas and New Year’s’ issue. It is amazing how quickly a year goes by. So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.
Most of us are in a much different situation than in the past for the holidays this year. Many will not see their family or as many friends. It is very sad as so many things can happen in a year. Life is much better when you can get together as often as possible with the folks you love.
For me, it will be a very quiet Christmas. I have dialysis on the 24th and Boxing Day so Christmas is a day off. A nice gift from God I must say. Remember to incorporate God and Jesus Christ into your thoughts at Christmas. We could all use some light in these darkened times.
As far as I can tell with these ‘scientific rules’, I will likely be dining alone this year. You know, social distancing, etc. I don’t want to scare anyone. I try not to imagine how many others will be doing the same. The old days of having an ‘orphan’s’ dinner are not likely to come back.
So we must all find the joy in the things that we do have and are able to do. I will get to chat with family on the phone, enjoy some walks with Watson and maybe count on those one or two friends that I ‘bubble’ with, hahaha.
