I am pretty proud of The Valley Peak and the fact that I have a voice in our commu-nity. It feels good telling folks what I do for a living. One of the questions I hear most often is, “Where do you get all your infor-mation? You must be on the Internet a lot.” And I smile.

Because it is pretty much the opposite of that. I walk out my front door and there it is. Life. Right in front of me. Nearly every-one I bump into has a little story about the valley. Or they are quick to say, “You should get down to the beach/arena/ball diamond/etc. and check out the things happening there today.

I try to attend every event possible, espe-cially the unique little ones. I visit lots of businesses and restaurants to see what they have going on. Attending community events really helps also.

My favourite answer is, “I am always gath-ering information. I might even write about this conversation.” So there you go folks. For all of you who have asked and heard that answer, you are now in print. Thanks for all your comments.

I really appreciate that you take the time to read the stuff that I come up with in The Valley Peak.
